I spent part of my honeymoon there, and had to conclude it must be one of the most outstanding European honeymoon destinations possible. Whether you’re on your honeymoon or just choosing the time to spend a leisure vacation together, Inverlochy Castle is the place to be.
You wouldn’t want to be staying here if you were searching for a inexpensive honeymoon destination that’s for sure, but having said that, if you get the chance to stay at Inverlochy Castle, then get it.
If you can afford it, then take the King’s Suite, not only is it very large, but beautifully accomplished, very traditional, but still with state-of-the-art touches such as plasma television and internet access. The bath is also huge, and the towels beautifully fluffy, and the walk in shower, which is something we both love.
We didn’t go there for the room, but all the other touches from a hotel like this. Inverlochy Castle is one of the most masterfully restored castles. It was raining when we arrived and we were met with an umbrella. The hotel staff accomodated of our luggage and car parking. What added to the charm was when we walked into chocolates and champagne in our suite.
This was pampering, and it continued throughout our stay, from breakfast in our suite, where we looked out over Ben Nevis from one window, and the loch from the other. The food was to die for, and all our meals were quite superb.
It is fair to say that you need to be fond of a bit of hill walking, photography, just basking the scenery, because there isn’t a great deal entertainment around the region, but then we were on our honeymoon!!!
I think what we liked the most was how unobtrusive, and regardful the staff were, totally honoring our privacy.
Because of this extraordinary experience, I would recommend Inverlochy Castle in Glasgow, Scotland to be one of the most luxurious hotels and one of the best European honeymoon destinations.
